
Jim Pearson Transport was established by Jim Pearson Senior in 1955. Previous to settling down in Port Macquarie in 1974, Jim Pearson gained his experience and knowledge in the industry through other smaller transport endeavours in Newcastle and Cootamundra in the 1960’s.
Due to the continual expansion and success of the Port Macquarie depot, further depots were also positioned in Sydney, Taree, Brisbane and Grafton.
Jim Pearson Senior is described on the Shell’s hall of fame as a voice and leader of the transport industry, being continuously involved in industry legislation and community issues.
His son and current owner of the business Jim Pearson Jnr has worked in the business since 1979. He became Managing Director in 1999 and has now been operating the business for the past 10 years. During this time, he has taken the business to the forefront of new technologies, using his experience and expertise to drive the development and growth of this outstanding company.
The introduction of such technologies and quality procedures has seen Jim Pearson Transport grow at a rate of 25-30% annually, resulting in around 3000 tonnes of freight being moved along the Pacific Highway each day.
From the purchase of the first truck in the 1950's Jim Pearson Transport has evolved to be a truly outstanding company.
